SSP Rupnagar inspects inter-state check posts under Operation Seal at village Dherowal
Rupnagar, March 6: SSP Rupnagar Mr. Gulneet Singh Khurana on Friday inspected inter-state check posts under Operation Seal at Sri Anandpur Sahib including village Dherowal near Himachal Pradesh border.
He said that vehicles are being checked at 7 check posts in the district so that action can be taken against drug smugglers at every level.
Speaking on the occasion, Senior Superintendent of Police Rupnagar said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to eliminate the drug trade in the state. He said that today, on the instructions of Director General of Police Punjab Mr. Gaurav Yadav, inter-state checkpoints are being set up in the entire state under Operation Seal.
He said that 7 inter-state checkpoints have been set up in Rupnagar district today, on which he is personally going to inspect these checkpoints. Apart from this, the police are also patrolling continuously in the district, and checking is being done by deploying police personnel on other small routes that connect Punjab with other states.
Mr. Khurana further said that the aim of this campaign is to weed out drug traffickers and to bring back the victims who have fallen prey to drugs to normal life by getting them treated.
SSP said that under the campaign to identify and arrest drug traffickers in Rupnagar district, a “Yudh nashian virudh” campaign has been run from March 1 to March 31, 2025. To make this campaign result-oriented, special instructions have been issued to the police and civil officers, which are being implemented at the ground level.
DSP Rupnagar S. Rajpal Singh Gill, SHO Rupnagar Mr. Simranjit Singh and other senior officers of the police department were present on the occasion.
