Serious notice taken over shortage of 148 domestic (filled) cylinders

Rupnagar, March 20: Deputy Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal, SSP Maninder Singh, and Additional Deputy Commissioner Avikesh Gupta conducted a surprise inspection of Harson Gas Agency located at Gyani Zail Singh Nagar.

On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner checked the stock register at the agency and directed that proper and complete records of gas cylinder supply must be maintained. He warned that any negligence or black marketing at any level would invite strict legal action.

The gas agency informed that cylinders are currently being supplied to beneficiaries who had bookings up to March 12, and further bookings are also being accepted.

Subsequently, the Deputy Commissioner and SSP carried out a surprise inspection of the agency’s godown and reviewed the stock. During this, the cylinders were physically counted and matched with the records, revealing a shortage of 148 domestic (filled) cylinders in the godown.

Deputy Commissioner, Rupnagar, took serious note of the shortage and directed the gas agency to submit its explanation by March 24, 2026. In case of failure to provide a satisfactory explanation, appropriate legal action will be initiated against the agency.
