In a bid to arrange adequate oxygen supply for the patients admitted in hospitals, the concerted efforts of the Rupnagar district administration borne fruits today as Industrial giant Ambuja cement agreed to set up one oxygen plant for District Hospital Rupnagar and Sub Divisional Hospital Nangal. Ambuja also in principle consented to set up one more such oxygen plant and the process for it has been initiated.
Disclosing this in a press communique Mrs. Sonali Giri, Deputy Commissioner, Rupnagar said that the consent of Ambuja to provide one Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) medical oxygen plant to the district hospitals for the COVID facilities would provide much needed respite to the doctors to ensure oxygen supply to needy patients . She said that as intimated by the Ambuja administration, the order for one unit had already been released today. She said that oxygen supply from this unit may start within 5 weeks. Deputy Commissioner disclosed that one plant will cater to approximately 50 cylinders per day. She said that the Ambuja administration had promised to expedite the process of setting up second unit to augment the supply of oxygen to the district hospitals for COVID facilities. She said the as intimated the case for setting up second plant had been forwarded to the higher authorities of Ambuja.
