Administrative Secretary Kumar Rahul reviews paddy procurement in Abhiana Mandi

Rupnagar, November 7: Administrative Secretary Kumar Rahul on Thursday visited Abiana Mandi of Rupnagar district and reviewed the arrangements for lifting and paddy procurement. Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar Himanshu Jain was also present with him on this occasion.

Mr. Kumar Rahul instructed the officials of the Food Supply Department and procurement agencies to speed up the process of procurement and lifting in Grain markets of district. He also discussed the procurement arrangements with the farmers present in the market.

Administrative Secretary instructed the officials and said that the farmers should not face any kind of trouble in the markets. He instructed the officials to buy every grain of the paddy brought by the farmers in the markets. Along with this, he instructed the District Food Supply Officer Mrs. Kimmi Vaneet Kaur Sethi to address all problems faced by farmers as soon as possible.

District Food Supply Officer Mrs. Kimmi Vaneet Kaur Sethi said that till now 1 lakh 63 thousand 465 tons of paddy has arrived in the markets of the district and 1 lakh 63 thousand 064 tons of paddy has been purchased by the procurement agencies.

He said that 7 thousand 645 metric tons were lifted today, out of which 2 thousand 421 metric tons were lifted by Pangrain, 1 thousand 937 metric tons by Markfed, 1 thousand 632 metric tons by Pansap, 1 thousand 243 metric tons by Warehouse and 368 metric tons Lifting have been done by FCI.

Along with this, he informed that 354.59 crores has been paid to the farmers for the purchase of paddy crop.
