Advisor, Cultural & Tourism affairs holds meeting with MLAs and District Administration to review preparations

Rupnagar, April 20: Punjab Government is commencing district-level Kirtan Samagams dedicated to the 650th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji from District Rupnagar. In this regard, Advisor for Cultural and Tourism Affairs, Mr. Deepak Bali, today held an high powered meeting with senior officials of the District Administration Rupnagar to review the preparations.

During the meeting, MLA Rupnagar Advocate Mr. Dinesh Chadha, MLA Sri Chamkaur Sahib Dr. Charanjit Singh, Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar Mr. Aaditya Dachalwal and SSP Rupnagar Mr. Maninder Singh, along with all Sub-Divisional Magistrates, were especially present.

It was informed in the meeting that the district-level Kirtan Darbar will be organized on April 26, 2026 (Sunday) at Nehru Stadium, Rupnagar from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Renowned Raagi Jathas will perform Gurbani Kirtan during the religious event, and prominent personalities from the Sant Samaj are also expected to attend in large numbers.

While presiding over the meeting, Mr. Deepak Bali emphasized that decorum must be taken to maintain religious sensitivities during the event.

He stated that Sri Guru Ravidas Ji envisioned an egalitarian society free from all forms of discrimination. Punjab Government will organize such Kirtan Samagams in every district to commemorate the 650th Prakash Purb.

He further added that year-long programs have been planned to celebrate the 650th Prakash Purb in a grand manner. Sri Guru Ravidas Ji preached the welfare of all humanity and equality among all sections, laying the foundation of a just and harmonious society where no one suffers.

He reiterated that the Punjab Government is committed to building a society based on the teachings and principles of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, which guide humanity towards equality.

He informed that three separate stages will be set up during the event—one central stage for the Prakash of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the second for Kirtaniyas and Raagis, and the third for distinguished guests and Sant Samaj.

He directed that all necessary arrangements be ensured for the smooth and grand functioning of the event, including security, traffic management, cleanliness, drinking water, electricity supply, medical facilities, and parking arrangements.

He also emphasized that special attention should be given to Langar arrangements, proper seating facilities for the Sangat, and efficient stage management.

Deputy Commissioner Mr. Aditya Dachalwal assured that the District Administration will make every possible effort to organize the event in a smooth and memorable manner.

Bhullar, District Food Supply Officer Dr. Kimmi Vaneet Kaur Sethi, District Mandi Officer Surinderpal, District Sports Officer Jagjeevan Singh, DSP Deepinder Singh, Executive Officer Ashok Kumar, along with other senior officials.
