GENERAL OBSERVER DR. HEERA LAL REVIEWS POLL PREPAREDNESS AT RUPNAGAR

Rupnagar, May 14: General Observer Dr. Heera Lal for Anandpur Sahib Parliamentary Constituency on Tuesday reviewed the poll preparedness made by the district administration for ensuring smooth, free, fair and transparent elections. Police Observer Mr. Sandeep Gajanan Diwan, I.P.S. and Expenditure Observer Mr. Shilpi Sinha, I.P.&T.A.F.S. were also present in high powered meetings.

On this occasion, General Observer Dr. Hira Lal, IAS, said that any voter or any other person associated with any political party can meet him at Canal Rest House between 9 am to 11 am and this time is scheduled for a public meeting.

During this discussion, the General Observer said that the instructions of the Election Commission of India should be strictly followed during the elections so that the conduct of the elections is free from any form of bullying and intimidation. He said that optimum utilization of FST, SST, VST and other teams should be ensured for implementation of Model Code of Conduct in an effective manner.

District Electoral Officer (D.E.O.) – cum – Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav gave first hand information about the steps being taken by the administration for smooth conduct of elections.

During the discussion, the observers stated that the rules and directives of the Election Commission of India should be adhered to during the elections so as to ensure the conduct of the elections should be free from inducement, coercion and intimidation of any kind.

D.E.O. Dr. Preeti Yadav informed that FST, SST, VST and other teams were operational round the clock in all the nine assembly segments falling under Anandpur Sahib Parliamentary Constituency.

D.E.O. added that prompt mechanism in the form of 24×7 complaint cell, quick action teams for inputs on C-vigil, Media Certification and Monitoring Cell, besides others various teams have been set up to deal with any complaints or violations related to Model Code of Conduct.
