Rupnagar, May 11: Keeping in mind the ongoing tension with Pakistan, the District Administration Rupnagar will register Civil Defense Volunteers under Operation Abhiyaas in District Rupnagar and first camp will start from May 12 in Virasat-e-Khalsa Auditorium Hall at Sri Anandpur Sahib at 11 am.

Sharing more information in this regard, Deputy Commissioner Varjeet Walia said that this campaign is to prepare a volunteer team in the district that can help in emergency, disaster or other security situation.

He said that the district administration invites all interested citizens to become civil defense volunteers and in this regard, registration and training camps will be organized in district Rupnagar.

Giving further information about the camps, he said that the registration camp will be organized on May 13 at 11 am at Nangal Office Club, May 14 at 11 am at Sri Chamkaur Sahib City Center and May 15 at 11 am at NCC Academy in Rupnagar.

Deputy Commissioner further said that all the interested citizens are requested to register to attend the trainings to be held at the designated centers. The training will cover subjects like emergency response, first aid, rescue and evacuation operations, etc.
