Rupnagar Police seizes 450 grams of heroin from 2 persons
Rupnagar, April 26: Giving information through a press statement, Senior Superintendent of Police Rupnagar,
Mr. Shubham Agarwal said that Rupnagar Police has achieved a big success by seizing 450 grams of heroin from two persons those were active in illegal trade of drugs and selling opioid in surrounding area of Nangal.
Mr. Shubham Agarwal divulged that special teams have been formed to take prompt action against drug peddlers. As part of campaign, acting on tip off, special Police team has arrested Prince Rana, resident of village Bhalan, police station Nangal, and Sahib Singh, resident of village Binewal, police station Garhshankar, district Hoshiarpur and recovered 450 grams of heroin and Rs. 5500 (drug money) from them.
He said that a case has been registered under NDPS Act at police station Nangal.
Mr. Shubham Agarwal pointed out that our main focus is on to destroy the supply chain of drugs so as to secure the youth of schools and colleges. No one will be spared who were indulged in the illegal drug practices.
SSP further said that similarly, police station Sadar Morinda arrested Sukhwinder Singh alias Honey, resident of village Kainaur, police station Sadar Morinda and more than 9 grams of narcotics were recovered from him and case was registered against him under the NDPS Act.
He said that in continuation of the “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, the District Police is deeply monitoring all the suspected persons and drug smugglers.
He also instructed the officers that no laxity will be tolerated in this regard and strict action to be taken against drug peddlers.
