Cabinet Minister Vijay Inder Singla reviews preparedness of Rupnagar administration

Ensure door to door delivery of essentialities to effectively implement lockdown: Vijay Inder Singla

Punjab education and public works minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla reviewed preparedness of Rupnagar district administration to contain the attack of coronavirus and directed the administrative officials to stand by the people for their requirements. Deputy Commissioner Mrs Sonali Giri and SSP Mr. Swapan Sharma were also present in this meeting. He said that the officials have also been asked to ensure door to door delivery of grocery, medicines and vegetables to avoid crowding in the markets.The cabinet minister also visited local police lines to take stock of assistance given by the police through its helpline number 112.

Mr. Singla said that the administrative officials have been asked to effectively implement the free ration distribution scheme of Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab government. He added that they have also been asked to set up isolation centres which could be used to isolate the patients in any case of emergency. He said that the officials have also been asked to seal the border with Himachal Pradesh to effectively implement the lock down. He added that Civil Surgeon also informed that a ventilator has been ordered and will be installed soon at civil hospital.

The cabinet minister said that all the SDMs have been asked to personally monitor the delivery of grocery, medicines, fruits and vegetables in their respective areas. He said that micro-level teams will be constituted to improve the free ration distribution scheme of Punjab government during the curfew.

Mr. Vijay Inder Singla also visited local branch of Dera Beas and lauded their efforts for providing cooked meal to as many as 4,000 people daily. He said that it is a crucial time for the whole world and providing morning and evening food to needy is service to mankind.
